April Death of George John Musgrove
Shown above is the Death Certificate of George John Musgrove who
died 8th April aged 24. He died of Tuberculosis His sister Emily
was with him when he died. The certificate shows his occupation
as selling sewing machines. The family were living at 4 Hill Villas, New Road
Broomfield,
just north
of Chelmsford. The house is pictured below.
The portrait below is the only surviving picture of George John Musgrove.
This rare cabinet card photograph was taken
in the studios of Duyshart and Co Photographers, 75 Duke
Street Chelmsford. and dates around 1894/95.
The
Solicitors record of the Musgrove account show the costs of George's
funeral. This was provided by local trader Mr Elgre of Broomfield
who covered all the funeral expenses at a cost of £12 - 17s - 0d.
